Cans For Kids Honours Austrian Ambassador

Cans For Kids' President, Olga Demetriades, hosted a reception to honour the Austrian Ambassador to Nicosia, H.E. Dr Karl Mueller, in recognition of his continued and longstanding support for the charity.

The Minister of Health, Philippos Patsalis, addressed the gathering. He said "I would like to congratulate and thank “Cans for Kids” on launching this outstanding fundraising campaign, the proceeds of which tremendously support the efforts of the Ministry of Health for the children's wards in Cyprus hospitals. Your strong commitment to your cause has resulted in the purchase of medical equipment of over 260 thousand Euros value for the needs of the central paediatric ward at the Makarios Hospital in Nicosia. Thank you for being with us and supporting our work. Together, we can fulfill our vision and duty of cherishing every human life, particularly children".

Also present to witness the Austrian Ambassador receive a certificate of appreciation for his support, and a framed picture of Austria and Cyprus created by a collage/mosaic of aluminium by Cans For Kids committee member Jenny Brown, were the Commissioners for Children's Rights and Volunteerism, the former Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and the Environment and several ambassadors.
