Earth Day 2014 was celebrated by Cans For Kids at an event organised by Microsoft Cyprus which saw enthusiastic volunteers turning out for a three hour can sorting session, with the partnership and support of Costa Coffee, Get Fresh and Souvlaki Bar – all of which provided snacks and refreshments for the workers, and themselves joined in with their own volunteers mucking in.

Apoel and Omonia football clubs also sent some of their players (pictured) to support the effort, and donated goodies which are to be distributed to the helpers.

It was a searingly hot day, but everyone worked flat out from 10 am until 1pm and one ton of cans was sorted for baling – congratulations and thanks to everyone!
