Local recycling charity Cans For Kids handed over another £5,000 worth of medical equipment to the Makarios Hospital children’s wards on Wednesday, bringing the total value of equipment donated to date to over £120,000.
Acting Health Minister Andreas Christou received the seven syringe pumps, which are destined for the post-intensive care ward, from Cans For Kids President Olga Demetriades.
Mrs Demetriades thanked the public for their support, “to have raised £120,000 from recycling aluminium cans, which are worth about half a cent each, is no mean feat” she said.
