“Last time we raised Cy £1,189 (over €2,000) and I’m hoping that this time we can double that” – Mike Samaras.
Handing over to the doctors of the Makarios Hospital the electronic drip Cans for Kids was able to donate thanks to Mike’s first 24-hour Fitathon (1995).
This same machine later saved his baby son’s life: at two days old, Mark Samaras was rushed to Makarios Hospital with internal bleeding. Says Mike, “The neonatal clinic staff nurse called for Rebecca. I thought Rebecca was a nurse, but in fact, it was the electronic drip that we had donated with the money raised at the Fitathon”.
