Yet another donation to Makarios Hospital’s children’s ward

On Monday 30 August, Cans For Kids donated an examination couch worth over €2,000 to the Makarios Hospital, purchased with the proceeds of metal recycling.

Handing it over to the Minister of Health, the charity’s President Rosie Charalambous said she was thrilled that, despite the difficulties imposed by restrictions and protocols during the pandemic, Cans For Kids volunteers had continued to attend the regular sorting sessions which enabled the charity to buy this latest piece of equipment.

“This follows on from the 32 thousand euro Litegait machine we gave to the Paphos hospital last year and takes us nearer to a cumulative total of three hundred thousand euros worth of donations since we started in 1990” said Charalambous, adding “as we have always said, every can counts – so please bring us yours and help us to continue supporting our medical services”.

Accepting the couch, Minister of Health Michalis Hadjipantela thanked Cans For Kids for their latest donation and their ongoing sponsorship of the island’s paediatric facilities.
